This is a quaint little hotel with old-fashioned everything. Historically, it is really neat though that doesn't completely translate into a great place to stay. Many of the rooms have shared bathrooms (some do not). The beds range in size but ours was pretty small. There are portable heaters in the room that do the job but aren't great for controlling the temp. If you know what your getting into this is a neat stay but if you are not used to the old time b&b feel (though there is no breakfast included here) then it may seem a bit privative.

Very friendly front staff. Room was awesome. Good historical hotel. Hot hot water bed very cozy and clean room. Kitchen had everything you could think of.. had a invisible friend turning on and off the table lamp in the morning :) was pretty cool thinking had a friendly host with us.. I would highly recommend this hotel. Totally enjoyed our stay

If I could give no stars I would. I have been in "historical" hotels before and this is not what I would call this one. 1st. there was no where to sit in our room except to crawl up on the bed. 2nd I did not realize at the time but our room had an adjoining room that someone kept rattling the door knob. The hotel was very noisy and I felt very unsafe.( No hotel staff on site after 9pm) We had to remove the portable a/c hose from the window so we could lock the window. The website pictures are very deceiving. I would not call the" family room" historic but rather it had not been updated since the 1970's. So after a couple of hours of being very unhappy we went downstairs and ask to check out and was told "fine but you can't get your money back" ( 2 night stay) I ask to speak to the owner and again was told "he will tell you the same" . I realize they have a 48 hour cancellation notice but it is kinda hard to do that if you have no idea the stay was going to be so bad until you check in. Needless to say we left anyway and stayed at a very nice hotel for 2 nights. When I contacted my credit card to dispute the charge, the hotel told them we did not check out till the next day (they lied) . We had a conference call with myself, my CC company, and the hotel owner and when we questioned her she hung up on us. Very unprofessional.!

Restored historic hotels are my favorite so I'm biased, I love this place. Though it was restored it was not over restored or modified. The rooms are small as they should be and you truly get the sense you are in an an old structure, but they are very cozy and comfortable. It's located in the middle of Williams walking distance to all the shops and restaurants on Route 66. Finally, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable about the area and very accommodating. The coffee service is in the lobby but worth the walk. We'll go out of our way to stay here again.

The Grand Canyon Hotel is the oldest standing hotel in the town Willams, Arizona. It maintains the style and furniture of the early 1900's but with modern amenities. The rooms each have their own theme (WWI, Boudoir, Mexico, etc) with old timey dressers, chairs, mirrors, and photos. The hotel has around 24 rooms, with the majority sharing community restrooms, and several with their own shower/toilet. Each room, however, does have a sink and mirror. The owners/operators are extremely friendly and hospitable and do not mind answering questions about the area and points of interest. It doesn't have the full modern comfort of a conventional hotel, but it has an experience that one couldn't expect find anywhere else.
