Day 4: well the crowdiness was short, the park is perfectly fine. We truly enjoy being here. I love all the afternoon shade from the trees.
We were a little concerned with the negative reviews, but are very happy we stayed here. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are large shade trees along the sites. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and well stocked. This is the first RV park to have had an abundance of hooks in the shower stalls! Usually there is just one or none. They have coffee and donuts for the guests every morning. We found all the sites to be tidy. Yes, it is red rock gravel and the wind can blow some dust, but the staff is very conscientious of enforcing the 5 mph speed and that keeps the dust down. I noticed the KOA on the road to the Grand Canyon is also all red rock gravel. The wifi worked quite well also. We will definitely stay here again. If they had a pool we would rate it 5 star.
Read the reviews and I was nervous to stay but as luck had it I had no where to go and I was exhausted from my long travel day. Place was great! Trains make noise but whatever...if this is the first you've heard of that, well.. then thats your own concern. Facilities were clean which made me happy that the employees care for their space. Location was great as well. Went in to see the staff about activities around the area and they gave me a list of things to do. More than I realized. This place is great as an intermediate stop for those traveling around. Enjoy your stay and say hi to the staff for me!
I love this place. The employees are really nice. I accidentally locked myself out of my little Retro at 8:00 in the morning, it was cold and I didn't know anyone in the area, but the lady came by checked on me and got me to the Clubhouse where it was warm and fresh coffee. I live alone and my family is about 2hr away. Just the fact that they checked to see if I was ok and helped, was awesome. My neighbor (MTM) was very nice and helped me figure things out. Like I said I love this place.
Day one: front desk lady was very nice and I like that we had a choice of paying the whole week or day at a time, cuz I had no idea what to expect, so it's a nice option since they have no refund if you leave early. Hook-ups easy, grounds nice, view fantastic, a bit crowded, but it doesn't bother us.
The sign on our road says one way. but when we crossed over other sites to go one way, we were admonished by the boy manager to not cross over other sites. there is no other way to go one way on the road in front of us. Permenent residents and others were seen doing exactly the same thing. He also said we were going too fast (according to him) and yet he was doing wheelies in his cart with a girl next to him. Don't think I will be coming back.
